9. Mohammed bin Salman Project for Developing Historic Mosques

The Saudi Arabian government started a big project called the Mohammed bin Salman Project for Developing Historic Mosques in 2018. 12. Jazan Economic City

Jazan Economic City (JEC) stands as a colossal project situated in the Jazan Province of Saudi Arabia. It plays a crucial role in the nation’s Vision 2030. Anticipated to evolve into a significant industrial and logistics hub, JEC will also serve as a focal point for innovation and technology.

Situated along the Red Sea coast, approximately 60 kilometres north of Jazan city, JEC will sprawl across 102 square kilometres, It will accommodate a population of up to 1.5 million people. The city will be compartmentalized into three primary zones: industrial, logistics, and residential.

The industrial zone is designated for various industries, encompassing petrochemicals, metals, and manufacturing. Meanwhile, the logistics zone will incorporate a deep-sea port, a railway, and an airport. As for the residential zone, it is earmarked to provide housing for workers and their families.

13. Red Sea Farms Project

Red Sea Farms is a modern farming initiative that wants to change how food is grown in Saudi Arabia. It’s located in the Tabuk region along the Red Sea coast and is part of the bigger Red Sea Development Company (RSDC) effort to make a sustainable tourism spot.

At the core of Red Sea Farms are special greenhouses. These greenhouses utilize seawater desalination and solar power to grow different crops, like tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and herbs. The greenhouses use smart hydroponic and irrigation systems to save water and nutrients, which is much better for the environment compared to traditional farming.
