The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is bringing its prestigious Islamic heritage to life in Madinah’s upcoming Islamic Civilization Village. This immersive new destination, part of the transformative Rua Al Madinah development, will transport visitors across Arabia’s storied past.
Spanning over 257,000 square meters, the village will feature eight distinct zones modelled after influential Islamic regions. Wander through recreated landmarks and neighbourhoods that defined the Arabian Peninsula, Mashriq, South Asia, Maghrib, Southeast Asia, the Silk Road, Al-Andalus, and Africa. Engaging exhibits, live entertainment, retail shops, and cafes will make the cultural experience vibrant and interactive.
The Islamic Civilization Village provides a window into Saudi Arabia’s origins while propelling Madinah’s tourism growth. The development supports the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals to expand sustainable tourism, create jobs for Saudis, and make the country a global destination. Rua Al Madinah Holding has already partnered with Accor Hotels to add over 1,000 luxury hotel rooms in Madinah.
Saudi Arabia has invested over $800 billion in massive tourism projects, including the upcoming Red Sea development. Last October, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb announced goals to attract 150 million visitors annually by 2030. The Islamic Civilization Village will certainly place Madinah on travellers’ maps.
