Food delivery startup Tawseel has secured investment from Numu Capital, a VC fund based in Dubai. The startup owns a delivery app in Yemen and is focused on delivering orders for its customers with speed, and accuracy in the tier-1 cities in the country.
Tawseel is deploying the recently raised funds for scaling its business. Jamal Al-Mutarreb, the Managing Director of Numu Capital, commented: “Most of our investments have been historically in GCC and Egypt, and we frankly didn’t expect to meet a startup as sophisticated as Tawseel in Yemen given the current economic situation. We were impressed by Tawseel team caliber, especially its founder Abdulhamid Thaiban, who collectively have achieved an unprecedented growth rate despite having limited resources and operating in a challenging environment. The quality of the product they built, their advanced operational processes, and their localized marketing strategies helped us reach a conviction that the Tawseel team will reach their ultimate vision to become the Super App of the Yemeni market”.
