Wathba, an initiative of Mohammed Ibrahim Al Subaie & Sons Investment Company (MASIC), has opened registration for the second edition of its Startup Development Program, launched in collaboration with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (i-be).
According to the company’s statement, the program now receives applications from all over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It aims to support the owners of the selected ideas with dedicated workshops and incubate them in the incubator of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center i-be for six months, where they have a creative work environment and integrated equipment to develop their ideas and then empower them with various investment opportunities.
“Following the success of the first edition of the program, we are back with a new version to empower entrepreneurs, as we seek to support innovators to develop and implement their ideas to turn them into successful companies that will contribute to various fields and support the GDP in the long term.” Hani El Halawani, CEO of MASIC said.
Bassam Al Kharashi, CEO of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, stated: “We are delighted to continue our journey with Wathba in the second edition, and we believe that the integration of what MASIC provides through its many initiatives and what i-be offers will add a lot to those with unique ideas to help them implement them on the ground.”
The program team will communicate with the nominated ideas to choose from, and the journey will begin through 4 stages, starting with understanding all aspects of the concept and turning it into a business model or product, then preparing it to start work, and even preparing it to attract investments.
The first edition of the Wathba program was launched in 2021. It culminated in the graduation of 9 projects in different fields where they started their activities in the market, including the Boksha e-commerce platform, VEGRO for the supply of fresh vegetables, Zeina toys for entertainment and educational products for children, Silsela that works on designing programs and products to meet the needs of entrepreneurs, WeCare for healthy nutrition, Badri for driving for women, Nazir for training and education in sign language, Petra for textiles and office supplies services, in addition to Bonful that announced in June Closing its first investment round.
