Zelo and Watermelon Partner to Offer 24-Hour Invoice Financing for UAE F&B Suppliers

Hala was founded in 2019 as a joint venture between Careem and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai. The company has now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MwaslaTech.

The agreement was signed at Hala’s headquarters in Dubai. Senior executives Khaled Nuseibeh, CEO of Hala, and Yasser Sedky, CEO of MwaslaTech, attended the signing ceremony.

Focus on New Administrative Capital

The agreement will let Hala explore opportunities in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital (NAC). This new city project, located east of Cairo, has been under development since 2015.

Hala plans to bring advanced e-hailing solutions to this new city and other regions, using innovative technologies to enhance travel.

Its Commitment to Excellence

Khaled Nuseibeh expressed his pride in Hala’s first expansion outside the UAE. He emphasized that the company is committed to maintaining high standards of service and innovation in Egypt.

He said that this is a proud moment for everyone at Hala. They are excited to pursue new opportunities beyond the UAE. They started their expansion into the MENAT region.

They are pleased to partner with MwaslaTech for this next step in their growth journey. He highlighted that Hala has a strong reputation for reliability in the UAE. The company has the potential to deliver excellent transportation solutions in Egypt.

Hala’s Success in the UAE

Hala transformed the transportation landscape in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah since its launch in 2019. The company has focused on reliability and enhancing the customer experience.

In the first quarter of 2024, Hala experienced a 20% increase in new users compared to the previous year. Hala collaborated with key partners to introduce innovations like in-car digital screens. The company also provided continuous technical support and training for its Captains. From January 2024, Hala trained over 2,577 Captains.

Its Goals for Egypt

Hala looks forward to replicating its success in the UAE within the Egyptian market. The company plans to work closely with government and private stakeholders to address the unique transportation needs of Cairo commuters.

It is committed to providing a seamless and efficient travel experience, similar to its offerings in the UAE.

MwaslaTech’s Perspective

Yasser Sedky, CEO of MwaslaTech, expressed excitement about the partnership. He said that it was a proud moment for them to partner with Hala. MwaslaTech used its deep experience in Egypt’s public transport to launch an innovative taxi service.

This initiative combined e-hailing with street-hailing. MwaslaTech has a proven track record in smart transport solutions tailored to Egyptian commuters. They aimed to redefine mobility standards.

Sedky emphasized their expertise in public transport and their commitment to delivering efficient transportation solutions with Hala. He looked forward to transforming Egypt’s transport sector alongside Hala.

Hala’s expansion into Egypt marks a significant step in the company’s growth. By partnering with MwaslaTech, Hala aims to bring advanced e-hailing solutions to Egyptian commuters. With a focus on collaboration and innovation, Hala is poised to make a positive impact on Egypt’s transportation sector.
