  • Colis.ma, a Moroccan logistics startup founded in 2022 by Issam Darui, raised $300,000 in a pre-seed round from Witamax to expand its cross-border services.
  • Specializing in logistics for individuals and SMEs, Colis.ma connects Morocco with six European countries and plans to expand further into West Africa.
  • The company experienced significant growth, achieving a 380% increase in annual recurring revenue in 2023 and handling over 50,000 deliveries across Europe.
  • Having previously raised $50,000 from The Baobab Network and a $45,000 grant from Orange Corners, Colis.ma has attracted interest from African and international VCs for its upcoming 2026 fundraising round.

Morocco-based logistics startup Colis.ma has emerged as a leader in the cross-border delivery sector, recently securing $300,000 in a successful pre-seed funding round led by Witamax, a Moroccan venture capital firm.

Established in 2022 by CEO and founder Issam Darui, Colis.ma has rapidly become a vital bridge between Africa and Europe, targeting both individuals with personal shipping needs and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across various industries. The company has quickly scaled its operations, now serving an extensive network that spans Morocco and six European countries.

Expanding Horizons with New Funding

The recent pre-seed funding marks a significant milestone for Colis.ma, positioning the company for broader expansion and enabling it to reinforce its delivery network in five major Moroccan regions as well as prominent European markets.

With its growing reach, Colis.ma plans to broaden its coverage into other African regions, beginning with West Africa. According to Issam Darui, the capital infusion will fuel the startup’s mission to become a leading player in cross-continental logistics, focusing on technological innovations to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

In a statement, Darui expressed appreciation for Witamax’s early support, saying, “This funding allows us to expand our geographic reach and improve service quality. Our vision is to establish Colis as a significant link in logistics between Africa and Europe, offering transformative, technology-driven solutions for a sector in flux.”

Rapid Growth and Proven Success

Since its launch, Colis.ma has demonstrated robust growth, delivering over 50,000 parcels to more than 55 destinations within two years. This growth trajectory reflects the demand for reliable, cross-border logistics solutions, especially for customers with family connections between Morocco and Europe and SMEs exporting Moroccan products such as cosmetics, artisanal items, and organic goods.

The company’s focus on these groups has been instrumental in its growth, with Colis.ma achieving a remarkable 380% increase in annual recurring revenue in 2023 compared to the previous year. This success has positioned the company as a viable partner for SMEs aiming to expand their customer base across Europe.

Supporting SMEs and Family Connections Across Borders

Colis.ma’s services cater to individuals with personal shipping needs and SMEs seeking to connect with European clients. With an emphasis on efficient, dependable delivery, the startup has developed solutions that ease cross-border logistics for businesses of all sizes.

This includes Moroccan SMEs in industries such as artisanal crafts, cosmetics, and organic products, which face complex logistics challenges when expanding to European markets. Through its service, Colis.ma enables these businesses to scale operations and build stronger cross-border connections, fostering economic ties between Morocco and Europe.

Strategic Partnerships and Technological Innovation

One of the cornerstones of Colis.ma’s success is its strategic partnerships and internally developed technology. Collaborating with a mix of traditional and informal transport providers, the company offers a reliable logistics network tailored to client needs.

The use of innovative technology solutions helps optimize operations for Colis’s partners, improving overall service quality for customers. This approach not only ensures timely delivery but also supports the growth of local transport businesses that may otherwise lack access to such resources.

Recognition and Growing Investor Interest

Colis.ma’s journey has been marked by consistent recognition and investment from prominent African and international organizations. In its early stages, Colis raised $50,000 from The Baobab Network after joining their accelerator program, a critical step in its journey. In 2023, the company further participated in the Plug and Play Morocco Batch 4 Accelerator, gaining exposure and insight into logistics innovation.

Colis also won a $45,000 grant in February 2024 upon completing the Orange Corners program, a significant achievement that underscores the startup’s credibility in the regional logistics industry.

The latest funding from Witamax, paired with the growing interest from other venture capital firms, speaks to Colis.ma’s strong potential for market capture. Several African and international investors have shown interest in participating in Colis’s anticipated 2026 fundraising round, reflecting confidence in the startup’s vision and scalability.

Witamax’s General Partner, Hiba Mrani Alaoui, expressed optimism about Colis’s potential, stating, “Colis is thriving and well-positioned to become a significant player in the cross-border logistics sector.”

The Road Ahead

With its rapid growth and support from investors, Colis.ma is well on its way to achieving its ambitious goal of reshaping cross-border logistics between Africa and Europe. The company’s expansion plans into West Africa and continued technological advancements signal an ongoing commitment to improving logistics for both individual and business clients.

By streamlining parcel delivery services and enhancing the efficiency of cross-border operations, Colis.ma is poised to connect more African businesses with European markets, fostering economic integration and regional connectivity.

As Colis.ma continues to evolve, its role in connecting continents promises to bring lasting change to the logistics sector in Morocco and beyond. Through its commitment to innovation and service quality, Colis is set to become an indispensable player in the African-European logistics landscape, providing valuable support to SMEs and individuals alike in an increasingly interconnected world.
