The Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), a prestigious member of the Qatar Foundation, recently concluded its highly anticipated Summer Internship Bootcamp. This program aimed to cultivate technological innovation and entrepreneurship among university students in Qatar.

By providing practical experience and connecting participants with prominent companies and startups, QSTP has taken a significant step in empowering the next generation of tech leaders.

Program Overview

Running from June to August, the Summer Internship Bootcamp attracted over 800 applicants. From this competitive pool, 40 students were chosen. These participants hailed from six universities and represented 13 different nationalities. The selection process was rigorous, ensuring that only the most dedicated and talented individuals could benefit from this unique opportunity.

Insights from Leadership

Hayfa Al Abdulla, the Innovation Director at QSTP, emphasized the program’s alignment with the foundation’s goals. “Our primary objective at QSTP is to equip young talents with essential technical and entrepreneurial skills that can drive societal impact,” she said.

“The Summer Internship Bootcamp is a testament to this commitment. It provides students with invaluable real-world experience, fosters connections with industry experts, and deepens their understanding of contemporary technology trends.” she further added.

Workshops and Engagement

The Bootcamp featured an extensive series of workshops, enriching the participants’ learning experience. Over 600 individuals, including the Bootcamp students, startups under QSTP, and members of the public, attended these workshops. The sessions covered diverse topics such as quantum computing, business models, and design thinking.

Notable experts led these workshops, including Dr. Saif Al-Kuwari, Director of the Qatar Center for Quantum Computing at Hamad Bin Khalifa University; Nayef Al-Ibrahim, CEO of Ibtechar; and Ramzan Al-Naimi, Founder of Innovation Café.

Their contributions provided participants with deep insights into their respective fields, enhancing the overall educational value of the program.

Participant Feedback

One participant, Fatima Ahmad Al Kuwari, a Year 12 student from Al Jazeera Academy, shared her positive experience. “Participating in the summer workshops was both enlightening and beneficial.

The sessions helped me refine my project management skills, increased my confidence in team leadership, and expanded my knowledge in personal branding,” she noted. “I am grateful to QSTP for organizing such well-structured workshops and look forward to future events.”

QSTP’s dedication to nurturing local talent and advancing technology remains unwavering. The Summer Internship Bootcamp is just one of the many initiatives designed to drive innovation and support emerging professionals. By continually offering such programs, QSTP plays a crucial role in shaping the future of technology and entrepreneurship in Qatar.
