Jordan’s Exports to Qatar

Jordan sends a wide range of goods to Qatar, mainly focusing on consumer items. These include fresh and processed food materials, vegetables, fruits, meat, dates, dairy products, poultry, grains, and desserts. Additionally, Jordan exports various other consumer products, meeting the diverse needs of the Qatari market.

Qatar’s Exports to Jordan

On the flip side, Qatar exports several chemical materials to Jordan. These exports include automobile oils, sulfonic acid, lutein, aluminum molds, polyethylene, iron rods, and various types of chemical fertilizers. Qatar also sends plastic bags, automobile engine oils, organic fertilizers, and medical solutions to Jordan.

Growth in Trade Balance

The trade balance between Jordan and Qatar has been steadily growing over the years. This growth is largely driven by the increasing imports of Jordanian food and consumer materials by Qatar. Over the past two years, these imports have seen a significant rise, reflecting the strong demand for Jordanian products in Qatar.

Rise in Pharmaceutical Exports

Jordan’s pharmaceutical and medical supplies sector has also seen positive growth. In the first half of this year, exports from this sector increased by 3.8% compared to the same period last year. Despite challenging regional circumstances, the sector saw significant growth.

Dr. Fadi Atrash from the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) reported that exports of human drugs, veterinary medicines, pesticides, and medical supplies rose to about JD370 million in the first six months of this year, up from JD356 million during the same period in 2023.

Strong Economic Ties

The growing trade between Jordan and Qatar highlights the strong economic ties between the two countries. Both nations benefit from the exchange of diverse goods, which bolsters their economies. The positive trends in trade volume, especially in food products and pharmaceuticals, underscore the importance of this bilateral trade relationship.

Altogether, the first half of this year has seen encouraging growth in trade between Jordan and Qatar. With continued cooperation, both countries are likely to further enhance their trade exchanges, contributing to their economic development.
