The two-day Special Meeting will bring together over 1000 global leaders, including heads of state, government officials, and thought leaders from both the public and private sectors. Additionally, representatives from international organizations, academic institutions, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) will participate.

The primary focus of the WEF Special Meeting is to address the most pressing global development challenges of our time. With the world experiencing growing social and economic disparities, it’s imperative to foster productive dialogues that promote global collaboration and stimulate collective international action.

The sessions hosted at the Special Meeting will aim to devise sustainable solutions to these challenges. They will facilitate discussions on how to enhance global collaboration, especially as developed nations are surpassing pre-pandemic levels of activity, while emerging economies are still catching up.

The Special Meeting will delve into three key themes: Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development.

Global Collaboration will be a central focus, with discussions aimed at addressing current geopolitical challenges and humanitarian crises, particularly in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. The meeting will emphasize the importance of fostering inclusive dialogues between the Global South and North to find collaborative solutions.

Regarding Growth, the meeting will explore how transformation, innovation, and economic policymaking are shaping inclusive growth models. Leaders will discuss new investment frameworks and strategies to tackle the growing disparities between developed and developing economies, aiming to create more equitable opportunities for all.

Energy for Development will also be a critical topic of discussion. Leaders will concentrate on the urgent need to achieve a net-zero future through a global energy transition that is inclusive and sustainable. They will explore ways to accelerate the transition to renewable energy sources while ensuring that all communities, especially those in developing countries, have access to clean and affordable energy.

The Special Meeting signifies a continuation of the longstanding collaboration between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the World Economic Forum. This collaboration builds on the Kingdom’s active participation and contributions to the Forum’s Annual Meetings in Davos, Switzerland.

Riyadh has been chosen as the host for this Special Meeting, demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s convening power and its global role in promoting international cooperation and collaboration.

Designed to revive the spirit of cooperation and collaboration, the agenda of the Special Meeting includes several panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities.

It represents a unique convergence of global leaders and experts committed to forging a path towards a more resilient, sustainable, and equitable world.

Since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, Riyadh has emerged as a global capital and platform for thought leadership and action. The city is now a hub for innovation and solutions that deliver worldwide impact.

The Special Meeting is an opportunity for global leaders and experts to come together and address pressing global challenges. It underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and collaboration for a better future.
