In a significant development within the realm of Arabic audio content, Sowt Media, Inc. has announced its acquisition of Dubai-based Rising Giants Network (RGN), further solidifying its foothold as a pioneering force in the industry. This strategic move not only marks a milestone for Sowt but also signals a promising future for Arabic audio content enthusiasts worldwide.
Sowt Media’s mission to elevate Arabic audio content receives a substantial boost with the addition of Rising Giants Network to its portfolio. This move underscores Sowt’s dedication to fostering diversity and engagement within the Arabic and English-speaking podcasting community. By joining forces, Sowt and RGN aim to amplify authentic narratives and cater to the evolving preferences of their audiences across the Arabic-speaking world.
The integration of the Rising Giants Network into Sowt’s family brings forth a treasure trove of talent and premium content. Renowned for its innovative approach to podcasting, RGN’s commitment to producing compelling content aligns seamlessly with Sowt’s vision of enriching the audio landscape with thought-provoking narratives.
Ramsey Tesdell, CEO of Sowt Media, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Rising Giants Network to the Sowt Media family. This partnership represents a significant milestone in our journey to redefine Arabic audio content. Together, we will continue to push boundaries, inspire audiences, and amplify diverse voices throughout the region.”
RGN’s roster of talent brings a fresh dimension to Sowt’s offerings. Notable shows such as “Lahza ma Mais,” hosted by the popular content producer Mais Mohammad, and “Kursi al Athnein (Monday’s Chair),” hosted by Emirati Abdullah Al Nuaimi, will resume publishing under the Sowt banner. Additionally, the video version of “Kursi al Ethnein” has been recently picked up by DUBAI TV for broadcast, reflecting the quality and appeal of RGN’s content.
Basel Anabtawi, CEO, and co-founder of RGN, expressed excitement about the merger, stating, “We’re very excited about RGN joining the Sowt family. We have seen how passionate and inspiring the team has been with all the cutting-edge content that they’ve produced. RGN will feel right at home.” Anabtawi will further contribute his expertise by joining Sowt’s board of directors.
This acquisition marks Sowt’s second strategic move to expand its presence in the podcasting industry. Previously, in 2022, Sowt acquired Finyal Studios, a Dubai-based podcast studio specializing in fiction content.
The acquisition of Rising Giants Network was made possible, in part, by the support of the Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF). While the financial terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed, the collaborative efforts between Sowt and RGN promise to usher in a new era of enriched audio experiences for audiences worldwide.
