Shining a Spotlight on Incubators and Accelerators in Saudi Arabia

Alongside the growth of initiatives like the Misk Accelerator, there are a number of noteworthy incubators and accelerators in Saudi Arabia, each making a significant contribution to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Kingdom. Let’s delve into the offerings of a few:

1. Business Incubators and Accelerators Company (BIAC)

Founded by Taqnia in 2016, BIAC has made its mark by operating and managing over 10 business incubators and accelerators. Their mission is to build, support, and develop an environment where entrepreneurs can bring innovative ideas to life. They have facilitated the growth of over 700 tech startups, signifying their extensive experience in the field.

2. Blossom

Based in Jeddah, Blossom is an accelerator with a difference. They specifically focus on empowering women entrepreneurs, encouraging inclusivity and innovation within the startup ecosystem. The brainchild of Eman Shakoor, Blossom was founded in 2017 to bridge the investment gap for early-stage businesses and support women-led entrepreneurship.

3. Falak Business Hub

With its foundation laid by entrepreneur Adwa Aldakheel in 2018, Falak Business Hub offers valuable resources to budding businesses. From accelerator programs and co-work space usage to angel groups access and venture capital firms networking, Falak creates opportunities for startups to make their ideas a reality.

4. Flat6Labs

A Jeddah-based accelerator, Flat6Labs, was established in 2011 by Ahmed El Alfi with the slogan “accelerating the future”. They invest in over 100 market-disruptive ideas annually, providing entrepreneurs with the necessary mentorship, coaching, and funding opportunities.

5. Middle East Investor Partner (MEVP)

MEVP, founded in 2010 by Walid Hanna, provides support to startups from various industries, indicating their versatility. They strongly believe that tech-driven startups can bring new solutions to the MENA region, including Saudi Arabia, thereby strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

6. Nomow Business Incubator

Nomow offers a broad spectrum of services to entrepreneurs and startups, including funding, mentorship, coaching, legal support, and networking opportunities. Although the founder’s details are not available, Nomow is an excellent resource for tech and non-tech startups based in Riyadh.

7. Riyadh Valley Company

The brainchild of King Saud University, Riyadh Valley Company, was established in 2010. It uses venture capital investments to support startups working on innovative technological solutions to local problems, fostering economic development in Saudi Arabia.

8. Sure Global Tech

Founded by Basem Alsallom in 2004, Sure Global Tech not only offers business solutions like software development and information security but also incubates promising startups. The company’s strategic focus on incubation allows it to expand and open new markets, creating a win-win situation.

9. Taqadam

Founded by Abdulrahman Jahhaf in 2016, Taqadam offers startups essential tools to build, launch, and scale. Their offerings include mentorship, workshops, non-diluting funding, and a community of entrepreneurs, mentors, and industry experts.

10. Wadi Makkah Venture

Promoted by Umm al-Qura University, Wadi Makkah Venture, established in 2017, focuses on incubating and accelerating businesses using Hajj and Umrah techniques.

This impressive collection of incubators and accelerators serves as evidence of the growing entrepreneurial spirit in Saudi Arabia. With each institution’s unique approach, they collectively nurture and transform entrepreneurial ideas into successful ventures.
