A new partnership between Abu Dhabi’s Hub71 and the Seoul Metropolitan Government aims to supercharge growth for tech startups in the UAE and South Korea.
The collaboration will open up cross-border business opportunities, support founders with resources, and accelerate access to funding so startups can scale up faster.
Hub71 provides a thriving ecosystem for startups in Abu Dhabi, while Seoul boasts a $211 billion startup economy. By linking these two tech hubs, the partnership creates a springboard for startups to expand internationally.
“We want to give startups access to opportunities across the world’s leading tech hubs,” said Ahmad Ali Alwan, Deputy CEO of Hub71. “This partnership with Seoul will help startups tap into the vibrant ecosystems of both cities to develop innovative solutions that make an impact.”
The UAE capital’s startup scene has ballooned 134% to become the 6th fastest growing globally. Seoul itself holds 12th place in startup ecosystem rankings.
“Through linking up with Hub71, we expect an active exchange that will enhance the startup ecosystems of both Seoul and Abu Dhabi,” said Kyoung Hwan Park, Director-General of the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
With complementary strengths across the two cities, the partnership lays the foundations for startups to think globally from day one. Easy access to funding, support and new markets empowers entrepreneurs to get their ventures off the ground quickly.
As two leading global startup hubs join forces, entrepreneurs can expect an explosion of innovative new products and services that improve lives worldwide.
